A Muslim non government organization leader on Sunday lauded the dawning of democracy in Egypt, describing it a grass-roots led movements to demand democracy and justice for the masses.

"As the Philippine nation prepares to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its People Power Revolution in two weeks time, we watched with a feeling of "deja vu" as thousands of Egyptians gathered demanding that President Hosni Mubarak step down," Amina Rasul, president of Philippine Council for Islam and Democracy, said in a statement.

She said over the last four weeks, the PCID has been watching the events unfolded in Tunisia and then Egypt.

"The last few days, with bated breath, we would say a prayer for the Egyptians gathered in Tahrir Square, their Liberation Square," Rasul said, adding: "Mabrouk, people of Egypt! A blessing has been bestowed upon you! Congratulations!

Rasul said the bravery of the Egyptian people must be commended against powerful Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

She said the last few days have been riveting, with the Egyptians overcoming their fear of their "Pharaoh" and his palace guards, demanding that he step down.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
