Death of a Pinay in Singapore
« on: March 20, 2010, 08:05:35 PM »
Singapore police are investigating the March 15 death of a Filipina as a case of “unnatural death,” the Philippine embassy in the city-state said.

In a report to the Department of Foreign Affairs, embassy charge d’affaires, a.i. Nathaniel Imperial said an autopsy has been conducted on the Filipina and the embassy has requested a copy of said autopsy report which it will provide to the deceased’s next of kin.

“A coroner’s inquiry will be conducted to determine the cause of death,” Imperial said.

He said the embassy is assisting in the ongoing police investigation and will provide assistance to the family including the early repatriation of the Filipina’s remains. - PDI

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

The Filipino woman who was found dead at a lodging house in Bencoolen Street earlier this month used to work in Singapore as an "entertainer" using a 3-month tourist visa.

This was revealed by her cousin, who spoke to reporters outside the mortuary on Thursday.

Ms Erliza Pascua said her cousin, Roselyn Pascua, came to Singapore once a year, earning S$3,000 from each visit.

Ms Erliza Pascua said it was her own father who told her of Miss Pascua's death.

"She worked here as an entertainer. Last year, she called me. But this time, (she didn't) contact me. That's why I was very shocked to find out that she has passed away already," said Erliza Pascua, cousin of the deceased.

The victim had a 10-year-old daughter in the Philippines, and it's said that she had a boyfriend here.

She was found stabbed at Peony Mansion on March 15.

On March 19, an Indian national - 34-year-old Gopinathan Nair Remadevi Bijukumar - was charged in court with her murder.

Ms Pascua said it was the last time her cousin planned to work in Singapore because she had made enough money to build a house in the Philippines.

Man faces death sentence if convicted of murder at Peony Mansion

A 34-year-old Indian national was charged in court on Friday with the murder of a Filipino woman.

Gopinathan Nair Remadevi Bijukumar is said to have caused the death of Roselyn Reyes Pascua.

Ms Pascua was found stabbed in the chest in a fifth-floor unit of Peony Mansion at Bencoolen Street early on Monday.

If convicted, he faces the mandatory death penalty.

He will appear in court again on March 26.

How nice and good of the Singaporean police authoriteis to do an investigation of an outsider coming into their country who might be the victim of a possible murder.

One outsider from the UK coming into Philippines was stabbed 23 times and there was not an iota of any deep investigation done on his aledged prepetrators..... they may have one of the persons involved in custody but.....

It is like I have been saying all along other countries authoriteis will do a proper investigation with-out having to see anyone pull out money from their pockets. But in Philippines everything stops if no case is filed and no investigation is done and no money has echanged hands.

Why should these other countreis investigate Philippine persons who were killed while visiting in their country we owe them in the same way how they treat our foreigners who are killed as they do not do the same here unless they see money from the victims families/freinds pockets to hire an investigator and then file a case.

It is like one NAPLCOM ATTY. had once told me and a freind in his CEBU office before  "IF things happen to outsiderss here, the peope here are not going to pay the same amount of attention with it, unless if it were one of their own country felowwmen here."

here we go again Precious Delight belly jean whops JB,

i sincerely admire your being soo..concerned
but dismissing the concerns expressed by one of those abuse victims
and comparing it with your "likes" (foreigner) gotcha cause me toothache  ;)

It is quite proper that these very serious matters should be given
in the hands of our legal representatives  ;)

However, so far thru my observation and what ive had heard since decades,
to act as if nothing had happened? is quite contrary to your statement above.,
"no guts"  (in terms of financial status) Filipino victims were less justified due to lack
of financial capabilities to go from one attorney to another..,
whereas, foreigner who seems to have "takwals"(money) for under the table tips (datung)
has more chance to dig their cases.

makabungol,po-ul ra segi reklamo nga wla mo atimana?  ::)

you obviousley have not a clue to what your talking about. Please explain how United States police or any other foreigner countreis police will go after an alleged suspect?

Here you write in a blotter and from there it goes no where unless you file a case first in the court but then before doing that you have to hire an investigator and get witnesses who want to testify but most times victim incidents just end up being blottered and nothing more.

In my county the police will dig for information with out a case being filed.

Blue Angel /dark Angel get off my case and stop insinuating that I am not telling the truths.

Or tryingto indicate that that i have gone bizzare in my statements.

Yea it is the way it is here. Problem is to stop listening and observe for yourself someday come back to your grass roots because the type of comments your making on peoples threads are just being of a smart ass type due to your lack of real knowledge on what is happening in Philippines.
