A migrants group on Friday condemned the killing of the children of a Filipino worker in Saudi Arabia and called on authorities to arrest those responsible for their death.
Migrante-Middle East said on Friday said that the murder of the three Dapitan children in Davao City was “very outrageous, nerve-cracking, and a work of a despicable person who deserves nothing but punishment of incarceration for a lifetime,†said John Leonard Monterona, Migrante-ME regional coordinator.
Migrante said the three Dapitan children—Maribel, 15; Marvin, 12; and Melvin, 10—were found beaten to death inside their home in Purok 1, Manay Village last December 2.
The three children died while their parents were away. Their mother was in Leyte province, while their father was an overseas worker in Saudi.
Monterona said Migrante-Davao officers have gone to the crime scene and reported that authorities initially reported that the killings could have been drug-related as there was no forcible entry inside the Dapitan home.
When sought for comment, Chief Superintendent Pedro Tango of Davao region police said they have filed appropriate charges against the suspects but did not elaborate.
