22 FISHERMEN NABBED FOR ILLEGAL FISHING
The joint forces of Daanbantayan Municipal Police Station and Bantay Dagat led in the apprehension of 22 fishermen engaged in illegal fishing activity using Danish Seine or locally known as hulbot-hulbot which is a violation of Municipal Ordinance No. 98-02.
The fishermen were caught early morning of Thursday, September 15, 2022, in the municipal waters of Barangay Carnaza.
Confiscated items that include 1 unit commercial fishing vessel and 90 kilos of assorted fish are temporarily placed under the custody of Bantay Dagat for proper disposition.
The suspects--who are residents of San Remigio, Madridejos and Bantayan--are detained at Daanbantayan Custodial Facility. l via Municipality of Daanbantayan FB page/CNT
