BORACAY, Aklan -- An international luxury cruise ship will make its maiden call in this resort island and expected to bring 3,500 tourists and 2,000 crew members on August 30.
MV Genting “Dreams of Dream Cruises” is expected to bring mostly Chinese passengers, said Jean Pontero, special operations officer of Aklan Jetty Port Administration, on Monday.
The cruise ship is expected to arrive at 7:30 a.m. for a day tour around the island. It will be the ninth cruise ship to dock in the island this year.
A traditional welcome with Ati-atihan dance performance is prepared for the cruise tourists by the officials of the local port administration, Department of Tourism and local government unit of Malay.
After the day-tour, the cruise ship will leave the island around 4 p.m. to sail back to China.
Some eight more cruise liners are expected to visit this island resort this year.
The last cruise to visit was MS Sky Golden Era, which made its maiden call last July 10. (PNA)
