Press Release: On Wednesday, the Department of Health (DOH) and the Food and Drug Administration Philippines (FDA) approved the use of CoronaVac COVID-19 vaccines manufactured by the China-based Sinovac Biotech Ltd. to be administered to senior citizens, who are the A2 priority list.
The decision was considered following the recommendation of the DOST-Philippines Vaccine Panel Expert today. The DOH and FDA also advised the public that vaccination should strictly be preceded by careful evaluation of the individual's health status and exposure risk.
The two agencies also urged the country's senior citizens (A2 priority list) and people with comorbidities (A3 priority list) to get vaccinated and ensure protection from the COVID-19 virus.
