MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato -- Five drug suspects were arrested in the latest anti-drug operation Wednesday by the Philippine National Police here.
Supt. Gilbert Tuzon, Midsayap town police chief, said elements of Midsayap police backed by the Army’s 34th Infantry Battalion, conducted joint law enforcement operation at around 9 p.m. in Barangay Poblacion 8.
The suspects, caught in the act of sniffing methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu), were immediately arrested by police authorities.
They were identified as Renante Badua, 38; Ryan Beit, 23; Lucky Boy Jordan Marcelino, 18; all residents of Barangay Poblacion 8; Carlo Danilo Resian, 25 of Barangay San Pedro, Midsayap and a minor not identified in the police report.
Tuzon told reporters that the arrest was carried out after a police agent posing as buyer managed to secure two small sachets of shabu.
He added that the suspects had been placed for a weeklong surveillance operation by Midsayap police.
All the suspects are now detained at Midsayap PNP lock up cell while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against them. (PNA)
