CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija — The Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) has reported that the government’s anti-drug war “Double Barrel: Reloaded" resulted in the arrest of 966 drug pushers and users in the 738 police operations conducted in the province from March to August, this year.
NEPPO provincial director Senior Supt. Antonio Yarra said that of the total police operations, 45 drug personalities died in shoot out with police authorities.
Yarra said that some 804 drug personalities voluntarily surrendered in the house visitations conducted by anti-narcotics authorities.
As a result of the said police operations, he said that some 1,119.63 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and 169.53 grams of marijuana were confiscated.
Likewise, the operatives seized 113 firearms during the operations.
The Nueva Ecija police official also said that in the provincewide campaign against illegal drugs since July 2016, some 28,338 individuals have voluntarily surrendered while 1,879 drug pushers and users were arrested.
He attributed their success in the anti-illegal drugs operations to the cooperation of various stakeholders from the different government agencies as well as from the private sector. (PNA)
