CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan -- Six trucks containing 4,000 boxes of foodstuff were turned over Friday afternoon to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) under the first phase of the “Tulong Bulakenyo Para sa Marawi.”
Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and provincial administrator Eugenio Payongayong also handed a check worth PHP4 million to OCD-III regional director Edgardo J. Ollet as part of the PHP8 million aid of the provincial government to the people of the war-torn Marawi City in Mindanao.
“This is our own way of giving back. Every time calamities hit our province, other provinces also sent us help and aid," Alvarado said.
OCD Director Josie Timoteo, chief of operations Task Force Marawi-OCD, is in Iligan City and will supervise the distribution of the donations from Bulacan, Ollet said.
“This is a big help in our effort to help the people of Marawi, “ Ollet said.
Ollet thanked Alvarado and the people of Bulacan for their concern and kindness to the people of Marawi still suffering and bearing the brunt of the war. (PNA)
