IMUS CITY, Cavite, Aug. 11 -- City Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi suspended work in all public offices and canceled classes in all levels of both public and private schools due to possible aftershock of the Magnitude 6.3 quake felt in the province at 1:28 p.m. on Friday.
Maliksi issued the advisory through his official Facebook Page “Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi,” at past 2 p.m.Friday.
In his post, Maliksi issued the work and class suspension due to the expected aftershocks, per Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology’s (PHIVOLCS) earthquake information.
Although the earthquake’s epicenter is in Nasugbu, Batangas, Intensity 4 was recorded in the Cavite towns of Rosario, Maragondon, Noveleta and Dasmarinas City and its nearby locations.
Maliksi’s post also asked everyone to stay safe and contact the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office at telephone number +6346.4710629 or through mobile +63 998.8499635 for any emergency. (PNA)
