Pinoys still want to retire in RP

Filipinos, particularly those nearing retirement in Vienna, Austria, still wants to spend their hard-earned money and pension in the Philippines.

"Gustung-gusto ko talagang sa Pilipinas mamalagi. Iba na ang atmosphere natin sa Pilipinas. Matanda na tayo. Iba talaga kapag kamag-anak natin titingin sa atin,” said Fermin Torres, a member of the Ilonggo Community in Austria.

Some would like to retire in the Philippines because, they say, life in Austria is harder especially since the country has been affected by the global economic crisis.

Convenience is also one of the reasons why Filipinos in Vienna would like to return to the country.

"Medyo relax ako sa Pilipinas. May katulong ako doon.

Others whose families are with them in Austria also expressed their willingness to spend their vacation in the Philippines. report from Hector Pascua, ABS-CBN Europe News Bureau
