LOOK: The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is adopting the S-PASS Travel Management System as part of its travel protocols as COVID-19 continues to haunt the entire country.
This is also to accommodate the request made by the League of Provinces of the Philippines through the Secretary of Transportation and in compliance with the IATF resolution No. 101 dated 26 February 2021.
PPA General Manager Jay Daniel R. Santiago, with guidance from DOTr Secretary Arthur P. Tugade, already issued the corresponding memorandum to all its Port Management Offices on Friday, 7 May 2021, and directed all its Port Managers to report developments relative to the implementation within 3 days from the issuance of the order.
Based on the memo, the S-PASS Travel Management System of the Department of Science and Technology shall be strictly adopted as the one-stop-shop application/communication for passengers in ports under the jurisdiction of the PPA.
Passengers shall also be required to register with the S-PASS, and to show proof of the same upon purchase of tickets, entry in ports, and upon boarding in order to ensure compliance with the travel requirements of the concerned Local Government Units (LGUs).
