BUTUAN CITY — The Philippine News Agency (PNA) has been recognized for its role in promoting and strengthening the advocacy campaign of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority in Caraga Region (Tesda-Caraga).
PNA, the state-run news agency, joined 100 other agency partners that received the Tesda-Caraga’s “Service and Institutional Award” held at the LMX Convention Center, this city, Thursday (August 31).
Tesda-Caraga director Ashary A. Banto cited PNA for its “invaluable support and active involvement” in the agency’s mandate to promote quality technical education and skills development in the region.
Banto said PNA’s contribution helped bring the government “closer to the people by strengthening the promotion and advocacy campaign of the agency by informing the public of their agency’s programs.”
Tesda-Caraga also feted individuals, institutional partners and other stakeholders during its “Araw ng Parangal”, which was part of its 23rd anniversary celebration anchored on the theme: “Malasakit at Pagbabago, Tesda Susi Sa Kinabukasan.”
Created through Republic Act No. 7796 otherwise known as the "Technical Education and Skills Development Act of 1994", Tesda is tasked with promoting skills development of the country's human resources. (PNA/Noel B. Najarro)
