Anti-drug police unit ready for more raids in Central Visayas

CEBU CITY, May 30 (PNA) -- The Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (RAIDSOTG) 7 is ready for more raids against drug traffickers in Central Visayas, an official said.

“We have many operations that we’ve been building up in the whole Central Visayas,” Senior Inspector Hendrix Bancoleta of the RAIDSOTG 7 said.

The unit spearheaded the joint team that raided Banakon Island, Getafe town in Bohol Saturday which resulted in a shootout with the group of Rowen “Yawa” Torrefiel Secretaria, the third most wanted drug personality in Cebu City.

Secretaria and two of his cohorts died in the shootout, while another suspect was wounded.

Police said Secretaria, a level one drug pusher who led the “Yawa Drugs Group” and could dispose five kilos of shabu a week, sourced his drugs from Manila and parts of Mindanao.

Bancoleta said Secretaria’s operations reached Cordova town, Lapu-Lapu City, Barangays Ermita and Pasil in Cebu City, and he was one of the biggest suppliers of shabu in the region.

These places have fish ports where cargo and passengers can pass through.

Bancoleta said government officials in Banakon Island may have learned of Secretaria’s presence but did nothing because of fear.

He said the numerous pumpboats marked “Rowen” that were docked at the small port in Banakon Island near Secretaria’s house may have been used to deliver drugs to nearby islets.

Police said they are preparing for at least three other operations that they hope will corner other big-time illegal drug personalities in the region. (PNA)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
