ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Personnel of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Office were cited for meritorious performance that led to the arrest of a cyber den operator and rescue of two minors in this city.
The awarding was held just after the flag ceremony on Monday at Camp Romeo Abendan that houses the Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) headquarters in Barangay Mercedes, this city.
Awarded the efficiency medal (Medalya ng Kasanayan) were Chief Insp. Joel Tuttuh, regional anti-cybercrime chief; SPO1 Charlene Nabua; PO3 Mary Grace Francisco; PO2 Art Binas; PO1 Art Josef Valdez; and, PO1 Jenny Ian Kalayakan.
Chief Supt. Billy Beltran, PRO-9 director, said their exemplary performance resulted to the arrest of Eric Acain alias Madam, 40, an alleged cyber den operator, and the rescue of two minors.
Acain was arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of serving of search warrant on August 26 in Barangay Ayala, this city.
Confiscated from Acain’s residents were 11 units of computers; 11 units cellular phones; six units laptop computers; seven Wi-Fi modems; internet cables; one hard drive; and, a pocket Wi-Fi.
Beltran said the awardees’ exemplifying leadership qualities are an epitome of true and dedicated public servant, earning them honor and prestige, worthy of praise and emulation not only by their peers in particular but the Philippine National Police in general. (PNA)
