Quezon City Mayor Herbert M. Bautista leads more than 500 senior citizens in Quezon City’s “2011 Senior Citizen People Power Walk’’ on Friday, February 25 at the Quezon Memorial Circle (QMC) as part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the EDSA People Power 1 Revolution.
With the elderly participants clad in yellow shirts, the “Walk for Life" program will be simultaneously launched Friday when the senior citizens will be made more aware of how to have a healthy lifestyle.
Former Councilor Jorge Banal Sr., who is also the newly elected national president of the Federation of Senior Citizens Associations of the Philippines Inc. (FSCAP), said the event will start at 8 a.m. at the QMC.
The event is in cooperation with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and other government agencies and elderly groups.
Senior Citizens Party list Representatives Godofredo Arquiza and David Kho are expected to join the participants. = PNA
