BORACAY ISLAND, Aklan, Aug. 11 -- The Provincial Government of Aklan has hired additional 40 new personnel, mostly for health units in the province.
The new hirees will be assigned to various departments for different government-operated hospitals in Aklan.
Aside from the new appointments, 12 personnel were also promoted, according to the Provincial Human Resource Management Office.
The new health personnel will be deployed in seven district hospitals in Aklan particularly in Boracay, Altavas, Ibajay, Buruanga, Liabacao, Madalag and mainland Malay.
Some personnel will also be assigned at Dr. Rafael Tumbukon Memorial Hospital in Kalibo.
The hiring of new personnel is eyed to improve the delivery of health services and to serve more indigents in the province.
To date, Aklan has 149,690 indigents. (Karen Bermejo/PNA)
