Sun Star Davao: THE City Prosecutor's Office found probable cause to file rape charges against an 84-year-old man in line with the Anti-Rape Law.
The accused, a resident of Bunawan District, Davao City, was said to have sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl (name withheld) repeatedly, in two years.
In an affidavit submitted to the City Prosecutor's Office, the victim said she was first molested when she was only 10 years old and that she held her silence because she was verbally threatened by the accused, who was a trusted "fatherly figure" to her and her family.
She said the latest incident happened early this month, prompting her to tell a relative.
Results from the medico-legal exams revealed that the victim was positive for injury and trauma.
No bail was set by the City Prosecutor's Office.
