LEGAZPI CITY -- At least eight incidences of landslide hit the 37-kilometer stretch of a road network that traverses the towns of Pili and Tigaon in Camarines Sur and Tiwi in Albay province, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Bicol said Thursday.
No injury was reported as a result of the landslides, which occurred in a secondary national road.
Five out of the eight incidences covered both lanes, rendering the thoroughfare impassable to all types of vehicles.
The other three road sections hit by landslide cover only half of the road lane, allowing vehicles to pass through, according to Lucy Castaneda, DPWH Bicol spokesperson.
Castaneda, quoting a report from the DPWH 3rd District Engineering Office, said the road sections not passable are in Barangays Odiongan, Sibaguan, Bongalon and Patitinan, all in Camarines Sur.
Government engineers are currently clearing the affected road sections of a total volume of 8,400 cubic meters of landslide debris. (PNA)
