Are you staycationing in Metro Manila this coming weekend? You may want to spend that time  basking in the sound waves of ukuleles playing happy music. Enjoy two days of ukulele performances, workshops, raffles and other activites at the 4th Philippine Ukulele Festival at Centris Walk, Edsa corner Quezon Avenue, Quezon City on April 21 and 22.

This event is brought to you by ukulele specialty store Happy Music, Ukulele Underground Philippines, The New Susing's Guitar, Ferangeli Guitar Handcrafter, OB Guitars, Metro Musicians Academy, Clifton Guitars, Turtulele and Human Nature, with media partner, 105.1 Crossover.

Easy to learn is the ukulele. With just three chords, the beginner can play a musical piece. A stress reliever the petite instrument is because of high pitch evoking happy vibes.  The ukulele is more durable than a guitar because of its nylon strongs. 

Though small in size, the ukulele can be high in stature because it is a serious and adaptable musical instrument. There are four kinds of ukulele: soprano, concert, tenor and baritone. Children often have a liking for the soprano and concert ukuleles. Some teenagers like the tenor, while artists with advanced playing skills choose the baritone.
 
4TH PHILIPPINE UKULELE FESTIVAL NGAYON WEEKEND NA

Naghahanap ka ba ng matinong paglilibangan ngayong weekend ng April 21 at 22 dahil staycationing ka sa Metro Manila? Kung masayang tugztugan ang hanap mo, magtungo lang sa Centris sa Quezon City kung saan mula 10am hanggang 10pm, tuloy-tuloy na musikahan sa 4th Philippine Ukulele Festival.

Meron din workshops doon para sa mga gustong matutong mag-ukulele. Madaling tugtugin ang ukulele ayon sa organizer nitong Happy Music, isang specialty store, at mga kaibigan nila sa Ukulele Underground Philippines. Sa three chords pa lang ay makakabuo na ng piyesa.

Stress reliever pa dahil happy vibes ang dala ng mataas na pitch ng ukulele. Mas durable kaysa gitara ang ukulele dahil nylon ang strings nito, hindi tulad ng mga metallic strands ng gitara. Maliit man sa paningin ang ukulele, hindi ito laruan, kungdi seryoso at totoong musical instrument. May apat na uri ng ukulele: soprano, concert, tenor, at baritone. Bagay sa mga bata ang soprano at concert. Madalas pang-teenager ukulele na tenor. Bihira naman ang pumipili ng baritone dahil ito ang pang-advanced skills level.
