BAGUIO CITY – Over 23,000 job opportunities will be offered to the city residents during the 108th Charter Day Anniversary Job Fair on September 16 at the Baguio Convention Center.
Jose Atanacio, Public Employment Services Office (PESO) designate and executive assistant to the mayor, said more than 20,000 vacancies were posted by 16 overseas job placement agencies that will participate in the job fair.
Most of the vacancies are for hospital or medical, cruise ship and food service personnel. Others are for skilled workers.
There are also 22 local companies who are joining the activity with an offering of 2,588 jobs.
Aside from private companies and manpower agencies, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) posted 189 vacancies while the Philippine National Police Cordillera will recruit 74.
The fair will offer one-stop services by the Philhealth, Social Security System and the Pag-IBIG as well as free haircut, massage and international calls to the public.
Mayor Mauricio Domogan said the jobs fair is a regular activity in the Baguio Day calendar of events undertaken by the city government through the PESO, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and other government and private agencies to reach out to job seekers in the city. (PNA)
