It all boils down to economics and demographics. There are more Hispanics than there are Filipinos in the USA and it has been estimated that by 2016 they will outnumber African-Americans as the leading minority culture in the US. Though Hispanics have varying ethnicity (Mexican, Spanish, Colombian, Puerto Rican, etc.) they all speak one language. Whereas, though we may be classified as Asians, our languages (kay daghan ra ba jud) are distinct from that of other Asian countries. Producing Filipino music in the US would be far less profitable for the players of the American music industry than producing Latin music.
Very true, also the Filipino is also fond of English versions, no?
