Poms & Associates, an independent, full-service insurance brokerage and risk management firm, today announced the availability of two free educational webinars about safely navigating a return to work and mitigating liabilities once business closures are lifted. Part of Poms & Associates’ series of webinars about insurance and risk management topics related to COVID-19, the webinars are presented by safety risk and employment experts on the Poms & Associates Risk Control Services team.
In the first webinar, titled “OSHA Recordkeeping and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE),†Jason Brissey and Paul Penne highlight tips and strategies for how managers can meet OSHA recordkeeping requirements and conduct appropriate PPE assessments during the COVID-19 pandemic. They also outline best practices for reducing infection transmission among coworkers in close work quarters.
In the second webinar, titled “Safely Navigating a Return to Work Once Shelter-in-Place Orders are Lifted,†employment law expert Rebecca Torrey and Poms & Associates’ Maria Bruel and Tessa Babcock highlight how employers can manage returning employees to work in light of the new EEOC guidelines. They present practical steps to reduce liability if an employee tests positive for COVID-19 and outline best practices for managing individual privacy concerns and medical disability accommodations relating to COVID-19.
“With shelter-in-place orders slowly lifting across the country, it’s critical to have a comprehensive and multifaceted return to work plan in place to mitigate risks to both employers and employees,†said David Poms, founder and president of Poms & Associates. “These two webinars illustrate the many preemptive steps employers can take to remain compliant with OSHA and CDC guidelines to ensure the health and safety of their employees when returning to work.â€
