The decline of India’s oil-intensiveness started off towards the beginning of this millennium with the growth of the less oil-dependent services sectors and improved energy-efficiency in the manufacturing facilities. Research also shows that although a large portion (about 70%) of its local requirement is met through import, it is the high export revenue from the petroleum products that offsets the ballooning import bill to a large extent. - read more here

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

A recent survey conducted by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) shows that India as the most-favored destination for long-term Japanese investment. Global consulting firm KPMG reveals in a survey, that India (18%), has outscored France (14%), Russia (13%), Japan (10%) and Brazil (9%), as the preferred investment destination. Very soon, it is likely to become the world leader for investment in manufacturing. Among the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) nations, it is supposed to be the biggest gainer.

"Very soon", I guess, is in the context of the history of Indian civilization...  ;D

Came across a link to this on another site. A Chinese national spends several months in India with his (?) camera and takes pictures. Lots and lots of VERY DISTURBING pictures. It's interesting to hear (in VERY readable English) the Chinese perspective on a foreign country. He (?) focuses mainly on the Ganges river and all the filth, trash, and corpses that the river has flowing in it at all times. That's right, corpses. Lots and lots of pics of corpses. *shudders* There are good pics of interesting places, but you'll have to wade through lots of ugliness. The pics get more graphic the farther down you scroll, but the first half-dozen or so should be safe for everyone.
