if you send money not using a bank (e.g. pera padala, pawnshops, western union, etc), here's the charge: for 1,000 pesos, the charge is 100 pesos. that's almost a rip-off. the bigger the amount you send, the bigger the sending payment. the poor become poorer.
what is the best way? go to metrobank, bdo, pnb, bpi, get an atm account. it's so easy to apply for an atm account these days. ask your loved ones to get an atm account too. then use atm to transfer money within the philippines. you can save money. example, bdo charges only 50 pesos regardless of the amount you sent.
