According to Yanzhao Metropolis Daily, China has around 60,000 billionaires, adding that more than 50 per cent of assets in the country are owned by wealthy Chinese and are in the form of currency and deposits. Meanwhile, the Chinese Luxury Consumer White Paper 2012 reported that there are 2.7 million high net worth individuals in the country and their personal assets are more than 6 million yuan ($950,000). The average age of these wealthy individuals is 39 years old. Among them, there are a bunch of ultra-high net worth individuals with assets of more than 100 million yuan and had an average age of 41.
Most might know that there are many poor people more than rich in China. But look at another side of the truth, there are millions of them rich as well. Most of them are business owners, real estate speculators, professional investors and well-paid professionals. And the majority of the rich people reside in Beijing.
