Budget airline Cebu Pacific on Wednesday slashed its fares by half for all its international and domestic destinations.
In a statement, the Gokongwei-led airline said the 50 percent off fares will be sold from October 14 to 16 or until seats last.
The travel period is from December 1 to 31.
“We decided to offer this big 50 percent off seat sale because of the demand for low fares this December. Even if this is Christmas peak travel period, we still aim to give everyone the chance to fly,†Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific's vice president for marketing and distribution said.
The airline offers 50 percent off fare to its more than 70 routes, servicing 16 international and 33 domestic destinations.
These destinations include Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Taipei, Macau, Kota Kinabalu, Singapore, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh, Brunei, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul (Incheon), Jakarta, Pusan, Osaka, Boracay (Caticlan), Cebu, Coron (Busuanga), Iloilo, Bacolod, Legazpi, Naga, Laoag, Tagbilaran (Bohol), Butuan, Cauayan, Siargao, Surigao, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
Cebu Pacific flew 5,096,887 passengers for combined domestic and international traffic in the first six months of the year.
The airline operates the youngest aircraft fleet in the country, and will take delivery of three brand new A320 aircraft in the last quarter of 2010.
From January to June, the airline’s net income amounted to P3.09 billion, up by 55.6 percent from the P1.99 billion in the same period last year.
Revenues reached P14.91 billion, a 30.9 percent increase over last year’s P11.39 billion brought about by an increase in number of passengers mainly as a result of additional flights. (PNA)
