I just caught up with a high school friend who is now based in Dumaguete. He shared to me about the call center boom in that small city (I suppose comparable ni siya in size sa Tagbilaran?):
Right now naa ang Teletech ug SPI(PLDT). Naa pud gagmay based sa Foundation Univ. ug one more. Two are under construction - Ventus and Transcom which will employ at least 500 persons each. So murag ok ang IT business.Nganong murag wa man nangusog ang atong siyudad to catch up with the trend that has been proven to buoy the economy even in this deep recession? Unsa kaha'y problema--dili competitive ang English skills sa atong mga college graduates, kulang ang bandwith sa internet, kulang ug vision and priority ang local government? Unsa man gyud kaha?
