There are more than 4,000 new businesses that have been registered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Iloilo Office for this year.
DTI Iloilo Director Wilhelm Malones said the new businesses that have been registered with them are mostly into services like information and communication technology (ICT), travel and tours, and restaurants.
The DTI official noted that every year, there is an increasing trend in business registrations and this is also because of the help of the local government units in encouraging small businesses to register with the DTI.
â€Last year, there were around 3,900 new businesses that have been registered. We are convincing the business owners to register with the DTI. It only costs around P1,500,†Malones contended.
He said that many small businesses that have been registered with the DTI were encouraged by the Magna Carta for Small Enterprises because of their access to financing institutions due to their having legal personalities. source: PNA
