Fish Port in Mabini, Bohol
« on: May 19, 2009, 08:31:49 PM »
Department of Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap braved the rain as he led town and barangay officials in the ground breaking ceremony for the completion of the P20-million Mabini Fish Port on May 10 in barangay Baybayon.

Yap, getting known for his liberal scheme in dispensing multi-million infrastructure projects in the countryside, emphasized the importance of the fish port that will serve as the doorway for domestic and foreign investors.

However, he lamented over the condition of the existing fish port that collapsed more than a decade ago which could have been used for vital trade linkages with the neighboring island provinces of Leyte, Surigao or Cebu if congressional allocations were only made to finish the project.

“The Mabini Fish Port seemed hopeless until Secretary Yap took a new tack to save it,” according to Baybayon OIC Barangay Captain Romie Toong.

DA secretary ordered to expedite the bidding process to start the project by middle of June.

Yap also looks forward along with Mabini Mayor Stephen Rances to merge agro-industry and tourism to create tremendous impact of investments that will cater competitive advantages by boosting leverage on the town’s mainland and marine resources.

He further said that the town has good agricultural and arable land suitable for rice, corn, banana, mango, coffee, vegetables and other cash crops.

With this, he allocated P30-million for the construction of mini-dams under the Small Water Impounding Project (SWIP) program of the Department of Agriculture.

Yap earmarked another P3-million funding for the establishment of a Marine Culture Park along Cabulao Bay, the suitable nursery of marine life and the vital inland fishing ground of Mabini town where prawn, shrimps, mud and king crabs and grouper are found. - Sunday Post

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Kinahanglan jud nga adunay environmental impact assessment before mag-establish ug mariculture park para mahibaw-an nga suitable jud ang bay area tukuran ani nga project. Iconsider jud pud ang design and number of cages nga pwede iaccommodate sa area.
