Title: Why Men Go for Younger Women and Women Prefer Older and Successful Men?
Post by: Gener on November 23, 2009, 08:46:47 PM
When it comes to mating, men go for younger women. It is true! The reason according to scientists is the evolutionary pressure.

Evolutionary pressure is the drive to have more children. It is also the cause of the typical age gap among couples.

Researchers explored the theory that men go for younger, sexually attractive women in order to boost their chances of reproductive success, while women prefer older, successful men to provide the resources and security that increase their offspring's chance of survival.

The investigators trawled through a Swedish population database, covering 11,500 men and women born between 1945 and 1955, to see at what age these individuals became parents.

Among couples who stayed together, the most children were born in households where there was an age difference of four to six years.

When couples split up and mated again, they each opted for partners who were younger than the first.

That was especially so for older men, who went for women who were much younger. Women looking for a new mate generally chose a male who was slightly older than herself.

The study, which appears in the British journal Biology Letters, is written by Martin Fieder, an anthropologist at the University of Vienna, and Susanne Huber, a wildlife ecologist at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna.

There are various reasons why men in late 30's and mid 40's prefer younger women and one of the reasons is for men going through midlife crisis.

This is a controversial condition or syndrome which some doctors and psychologists thinks affects many men in their 30s, 40s and 50s. Some believe it has mainly psychological causes while others argue that it's related to hormonal changes. Some experts argue that there is no condition such as "midlife crisis but simply its a biological evolution where a man is out looking to secure his progeny and the safest way is via a woman of younger age who is often highly fertile.”

On the other hand, woman faces a bigger investment when choosing a partner; she’s going to go through nine months of pregnancy and will need food and nutrition in order to reproduce, as well as the resources for it. An older man with his finances in order and a high social status is a safe choice. That's why seeing gorgeous women falling in the hands of old but financially-abled men are common. Look no further, how about Gretchen Barreto who's married to Tony Boy Cojuangco, can you hear cash register ringing?

With the same analogy, younger men, likewise prefer older women because some bachelors claimed that as women age, they become less demanding and more appreciative of attention. Any sane man would rather be with an older woman with a nicer attitude than a gorgeous younger babe with a bad attitude and the heart of a cash register.

On the other hand, there is also this is new era where older women are seeking younger men. Dating younger men is something that older women are doing more and more. You need to look no further than Hollywood--how about Demi Moore-Ashton Kutcher relationship?

All these combinations of relationships are bound to fail for they all anchored on the wrong footing. If you desire for a longer and true love, you must seek first and put to life the true definition of love, ONLY THROUGH this, you can find contentment in your relationship. Looking for the true definition of love? No, you don't need a love guru or sexologist like Margie Holmes or sex counsellor like Asia Agcaoili for the answer is within reach. Just open your dusty and unturned pages of your Bible (if you have this in your home) and turn to 1 Corinthians 13:1-13, there you will see what I'm talking about.
