Tell him/her directly but in a nice way. Make him/her understand that you care too much and that you don't want other people to say him/her before you.

honestly, there's none.
Think of how many people encounters it and hadn't say anything!

only a mother can tell her son/daughter! The things only a mother can say. However, it depends what kind of relationship they have.

Oh man oh man oh man. I actually had something like this happen back on a date. I mean don't get me wrong, the girl i was dating was drop dead gorgeous, but like when we sat on the couch and started to get sensual, she started talking (after we came back from the restaurant) but i immediately smelled garlic breath from her mouth. Hahaha i had to get up and ask if she wanted dessert, i ended up getting her ice cream, that kinda killed the odor, but yea.

Give your friend a "mint" candy and graciously say: " This mint candy helps eliminate bad breath, ... I have one this morning" and hopefully your friend will get the hint. If all fails, tell the truth.
