In the 20th century scientists from Baltimore stated that during a kiss people exchange about 278 different kinds of bacteria, 95% of which are harmless.

Medical Note: During a kiss, two people may exchange a virus called EBV (epstein barr virus) , which is responsible for causing mononucleosis. Patients experience acute lymphodenopathy, fever, soar throat, high fever, nausea.
