Scenario: A man in his mid 20s has a long time female friend, his same age, and they reconnect after several years of distance. Is it okay for this man to have romantic feelings for his old-time childhood friend?

I believe that this 'romantic' longing is merely one man's gladness in being able to communicate with an old friend whom he has terribly missed these past 3 years of no communication. Her voice, the sound of her undeniable laughter brings him to smile and reminds him of the many secrets the two shared in their college years, that he misconstrued the feeling of 'reconnection' with 'romanticism'.

Sometimes, i feel that as men, we have to discern our thoughts and our sentimentality in order to make a right and proper judgment.
