The City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) here will adopt the "Work for Food Program" to help families and farmers in eight barangays in Paquibato district whose crops were affected by rat infestation since last week.
Ma. Luisa Hermosisima, head of CSSDO, said the program, which was recommended by city agriculturist Leonardo Avila III to use the blanketing method, will help families because for every 300 rats killed, one sack of rice will be given in exchange.
"We will be using this program to entice the families to help the government in controlling the recent rat infestation in Paquibato," she said. - pna
