A 51-YEAR-OLD housewife was stabbed and wounded by her sister following a card game bout in an east coast village of Zamboanga City, police reported Saturday.
The incident happened around 11 a.m. of Maundy Thursday in the village of Mampang, nine kilometers east of the city.
Stabbed was Delia Pacion, who suffered two stab wounds at her back. She was admitted to the Zamboanga City Medical Center.
The Zamboanga City Police Office Station 6 identified the suspect as Susan Francisco, the victim's sister who fled and remains at large.
Investigation showed that prior to the incident, Pacion and Francisco, together with a companion identified as Edwardo Lozado, were playing a card game locally known as "Tong-its" in a neighbor's residence.
Francisco and Lozado went home after 30 minutes while the victim stayed behind and continued playing with other neighbors.
However, Francisco returned few minutes later and without any provocation stabbed her sister, Pacion, the police said.
Police believed that misunderstanding could be the motive behind the stabbing incident.
