The Regional Development Council (RDC) here has approved a resolution for the proposed
upgrading and expansion of the Guimaras Provincial Hospital.
The proposed project is eyeing a fund support from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) of US$ 5 million which represents 40 percent of the total project cost.
The Department of Health (DOH) and the provincial government of Guimaras will shell out counterpart funds of 19 percent and 40 percent of the total amount respectively.
The project will be implemented within the next three years.
The Guimaras Provincial Hospital currently has a 75-bed capacity, which will be increased to 150 beds under the proposal.
It will also be provided with additional facilities and hospital equipment. (PNA)
