, police said.
Police Senior Inspector Mario Camilo, Saguday Police Chief in Quirino Province, said that the fatalities were identified as: Jimmy Pableo, a 33-year-old treasure hunter and lot owner; his son Mark Anthony Pableo, 18, and Manuel Ignacio, 28, Mark Anthony’s godfather. They suffocated to death due to gas poisoning. Their five companions survived the poisoning.
Mark Anthony’s body was recovered earlier and was brought to the hospital but he was declared dead on arrival. The two dead bodies were later brought out of the dug 100-foot tunnel by the Bureau of Fire Protection rescuers and volunteers.
