An elementary school teacher in Capiz province is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 7610 otherwise known as the Anti-Child Abuse Law for the alleged maltreatment of her students.
The case against 47-year-old advisory teacher Mrs. Susan Balgos has been filed after the 47 Grade 5 pupils of Plaridel East Elementary School in Capiz reported to their respective parents that the teacher slapped them with the sole of her shoes.
The abusive act on the part of Balgos reportedly started after she asked her pupils to pay their contributions intended for the purchase of flooring tiles for their classroom.
They said their teacher got mad after only a lone pupil out of the 47 students paid his contribution.
The court has recommended a total of P2-million bail bond for the temporary liberty of the erring teacher.
