Koronadal, South Cotabato (30 November 2006) -- Tampakan's information council committed to provide people with adequate information to help them make better decisions and identity opportunities that could improve quality of life will celebrate its 17th anniversary on January 26, 2007.
Popularly known as the Community Development Information Council (CDIC), the officers during its recent regular monthly meeting has decided to hold a "special edition" in its November-December issue of Tampakan Update featuring its annual program/activities for 2007 and the successful initiative of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte in implementing the Solid Waste Management Program (SWMP) in their municipality that could be replicable to other LGUs.
Proceeds of the sponsorship will cover the activities and prizes for the search for most outstanding Barangay Development Information Officers (BDIOs) and Best Barangay development Information Council (BDIC) Centers in the municipality.
The anniversary celebration will kick off with a motorcade around barangay Poblacion followed by a short program at the municipal hall of this town.
Highlighting the celebration is the awarding of prizes to the winners of the Search for outstanding BDIOs and Best BDIC Centers.
Regional Director Olive T. Sudaria and SMI Consultant Fraulein A. Oclarit for DREAM Project will be the guest speakers during the celebration and will award the prizes and the plaque of appreciation to the winning BDIOs and BDIC Centers.
The Search for Most Outstanding BDIOs and Best BDIC Centers is the annual activity of the CDIC to give due recognition to Barangay Development Information Councils of the municipality for their outstanding accomplishments and continued to support to CDIC."
