Chowking Messenger Runs Away with Restaurant's Money

A FASTFOOD restaurant in Manila lost more than P165,000 of its earnings to its own employee in Manila. In a complaint of qualified theft lodged before the Manila Police District (MPD) theft and robbery section, Julie Javines, 28, the manager of the Chowking Dapitan Branch in Sampaloc, Manila, said that she asked Publio Teves Jr. the branch messenger, to deposit P165,567 at a nearby bank on Monday. Teves, however, failed to return after several hours and Javines, who checked with the bank, found out that he did not deposit the money. Jeannette I. Andrade
