Special Elections in Lanao Del Sur

At least 2,000 security personnel coming from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) were mobilized Monday for the special elections on Thursday (June 3) in eight towns of Lanao del Sur province.

The augmentation troops from the regional and provincial mobile force of the PNP, the composite teams from the Army’s 35th Infantry Battalion, 43rd Infantry Battalion (IB) and 1st Light Armor Battalion started their tactical movement to help maintain the peace and order in the area.

The 103rd Infantry Brigade and 601st Infantry Brigade which supervise their respective field troops are under operation control of the Army’s 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division of the AFP’s Western Mindanao Command (WestMincom) led by Lt. Gen. Ben Dolorfino.

The troops' tactical movement already started Sunday.

The tactical command post provisional battalion is situated at Kampo Ranao in Marawi City.

The composite troops spread their forces in the municipalities of Lumba Caunayan, Sultan Dumalondong, Tugaya, Marogong, Masiu, Tubaran, Bayang and Lumba Bayabao, all of lanao del Sur province. - pna
