SP-Cagayan gives plaque of recognition to Cagayana SEA Games gold medalist
TUGUEGARAO CITY, July 2 (PNA) -- The Provincial Board of Cagayan has recognized the contribution of a Cagayana in the gold medal gain of the Philippines in the recently concluded 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore.
In a resolution passed during its 63rd regular session Wednesday, the board unanimously approved the awarding of a plaque of recognition to Sea woman First Class Elvie Baldivino, a native of Buguey, Cagayan, for winning the gold medal in the women’s Individual Precision Pistol Shooting in the games.
Baldivino, who is a member of the elite Philippine Naval Special Operations Group, bested all competitors in the pistol shooting competition bagging the gold medal.
“It is only fitting that the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Cagayan recognize the sterling performance of Elvie Baldivino and hereby awards her a plaque of recognition and appreciation for her golden featâ€, the resolution stated.
Board member Ramon Nolasco from the first district of Cagayan authored the resolution.
The resolution also orders that copies of it be furnished to the Philippine Navy’s Special Operations group for their information. (PNA)
