Davao Del Norte Governor Rodolfo del Rosario confirmed that his liaison officer who was shot last November 25, expired Wednesday evening while undergoing treatment at the Davao Regional Hospital here.
Juvelyn Villanueva succumbed to a gunshot wound around 8 p.m. after 22 days in comatose at the hospital.
Villanueva had undergone head operation due to a bullet that penetrated her brain but after the operation, her condition failed to go back to normal.
She was shot on November 25 by two unidentified motorcycle-riding men while she was waiting for a ride home in front of the Davao Regional Hospital.
Villanueva, 42, a resident of Teachers Village in Tagum City, came from the Davao Regional Hospital where she was regularly visiting patients as part of Del Rosario’s program. - PNA
