At least three persons suspected in the distribution of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) were arrested by elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Albay Provincial Office and the Regional Special Enforcement Team [RSET] in Barangay Sto. Cristo this city Wednesday morning.
Arrested were Adonis Valenzuela, aka “Bogartâ€, and his wife, Airene Kallos and the latter’s younger sister Lani, all of Sto. Cristo, Tabaco City.
Recovered from the suspects were a total of 12 sachets of suspected shabu inserted in a cigarette pack, disposable lighters and other paraphernalia for shabu sales. The recovered suspected shabu were subjected for laboratory confirmation.
Armed with a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Amy Anna De Villa-Rosero of the regional trial court based in Ligao City, PDEA operatives simultaneously raided the houses of Adonis and his sister-in-law around 7:45 a.m. in Sto. Cristo.
In his report to PDEA Director General Jose Guttierez, Deputy Regional Director Christian Frivaldo said cases for violations of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 have been filed at the City Prosecutors Office while the suspects were locked up at the RSET detention cell at Camp Gen. Simeon Ola in Legazpi City.
