Press Release - Congresswoman Lucy Torres-Gomes of Leyte 4th District and Ormoc City Mayor Richard I. Gomez attended the culminating activity of the 3-day Seminar-Workshop on Elements of Visual Arts (Patterns and Colors) held at the ZT Park, Brgy. Dayhagan, Ormoc City, yesterday, May 26.
The 3-day seminar-workshop was organized by the CSWD, with the objective to develop the knowledge and skills of visual arts in order to help the livelihood associations to enhance the packaging and marketing strategies for their products.
The culminating activity was an exhibit of the final outputs of the seminar-workshop, and was kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Congresswoman Lucy Torres-Gomez, Mayor Richard Gomez, SP Member Lalaine Marcos, Head of the Teacher-Artist Group (TAG), Ma. Teresa Ablen, who was the main trainer of the seminar-workshop, and CSWD Head Delia Corbo.
During the event, Congresswoman Lucy Torres-Gomez and Mayor Richard Gomez imparted words of appreciation and encouragement to the participants of the said event regarding the enhancement of their products, and later on bought some of the newly-designed products.
The members of the Teacher-Artist Group who also taught in the training-workshop were: Ms. Ma. Teresa Ablen, Mr. Erdenan Labrador, Mr. Hareol Tero, Ms. Jenny Selidio, Ms. Maria Joy Olanday, Ms. Malyn Pogosa, Ms. Melissa Cua, Ms. Theresa Salas, and Mr. Reymon Celio. Each received a Plaque of Appreciation from Mayor Gomez for their collaborative efforts in making the seminar-workshop a success.
There was also an awarding ceremony for the participants for the Best in Exhibit Award, while the top 5 Best Artworks were also recognized. The sponsors of the awards were SP Member Lalaine Marcos and Shopko Marketing Corp. General Manager, Gigi Chan Chu.
The livelihood associations who attended the seminar-workshop included the Gaas Homeworkers Association, Rural Improvement Club-Ormoc City Federation, SHARE Ormoc (Self-Help Association for Rights and Empowerment), and CSWD’s Productivity Skills Capability Building (PSCB) Program Implementers.
Representatives from GLOWLA, MARCO and Lingap Center were also active participants of said workshop.
