An 11-year-old boy drowned while swimming and playing with friends along the Calasiao River here in the afternoon last April 8, according to the police.
However, it was only in the morning the following day that the body of Edwin de Vera, a grade 5 pupil, was found floating along the river.
De Vera's father Edwin, 31, of Barangay Nalsian, reported to the police at 11:55 a.m. of April 8 that her son was missing.
It was gathered that the boy was playing with four other kids while swimming when strong current carried him to a deeper portion of the river and he vanished from the eyesight.
But the companions of the victim did not immediately report the incident to De Vera's parents, prompting the boy's father to report the matter to the police.
The victim was brought to the Funeraria Calasiao in Barangay San Miguel where his remains now lay in state.
The police are looking whether a foul play was committed. (PNA)
