A WHITE envelope left under the wiper of the pick-up issued to Acting City Administrator Zuleika Lopez parked along the City Hall Drive caused a stir Wednesday, as the driver who saw it thought it to be a threat letter.
The white enveloped was labeled: "Mayor of Davao Inday Sara D-30 by Commander White Lion, AFP."
Clarito Suralta Jr., the city administrator's driver who found the letter, brought the envelope to the mayor's chief of staff Lemuel Ortonio for him to check the content.
Ortonio opened the envelope as the media milled, only to find a love letter from one who identified himself as "Armed Forces of the Philippines Secretary Kumander White Lion Jonathan Luzano Eslemio" and placed his address as 3349700165, Pagadian City, Provincial Zamboanga.
The letter in all caps with dotted "i's" also had a list of love songs. It reads (wrong spellings and grammar included):
DEAREST MAYOR SARA D-30, KUMUSTA KA BESTFRIEND MAYOR SARA D>>30. NAG-ENJOY KA BA SA MANGA JOB MO SA OFFiCE. YOUR ALWAYS HAPPY ENJOY KA SA OFFICE MO DiHA. On the right side of the letter, it says: "TEAMSONGS MUSIC iS FOR YOU MAYOR OF thE CiTY Davao." Below this is a heart and three flowers drawn and signed, "LOVE JO and I LOVE YOU." Below this was, "PROGRAM PROPERTIES FOR ENGR. OKEY! LT. COL. KUMANDER AFP TIGER BLACK TIGER MR. JAYSON O. ANG."
"Basin tagahanga ra ni, ni mayor o unsa ba," Ortonio said, adding the letter will be surely given to the mayor, as she was not around when the letter was read. (Ivy C. Tejano)
