Run for Marawi City slated in Laoag
« on: May 29, 2020, 01:28:46 AM »
LAOAG CITY -- Northwestern University (NWU) students here have organized a run for a cause to benefit Maranaos, especially those affected by the five-month long battle in Marawi City.

In partnership with the Ilocos Norte Youth Development Office (INYDO) and other public and private stakeholders who are advocates of peace and anti-terrorism, the Run for Marawi City is set on December 2, Saturday, 3 p.m. at the Ferdinand E. Marcos Sports Stadium.

With a registration fee ranging from PHP250 (3K) to PHP300 (5K), the event’s organizers said the fund-raising event hopes to encourage more young individuals in the north to expand their horizon not just in school but also in social activities.

“We believe that there is much more than learning. It is also giving, sharing and loving,” said the organizers.

The INYDO is also open today, a holiday, at the Marcos Sports Stadium to accept registrants. (PNA) NOVEMBER 2017
