A 16-year-old female college student died when she was run over by a truck along a national highway in Sibonga town, southern Cebu, yesterday morning.
The student was waiting for a ride when she was hit by an Isuzu Elf cargo truck driven by Julito Antone.
Before the victim was hit, the truck collided with a motorcycle before ramming into parked motorcycles, tricycles and three stores.
Injured were Felix Repunte and Marcelina Padilla, both from Bairan, Naga City; tricycle driver Samuel Ricaforte Jr, 32 of Bahay, Sibonga and Bernadeth Carisosa, 32 of Simala.
PO2 Ederlino Bacusmo, of the Sibonga police, said the truck, owned by CP KELCO, a seaweed processing industry, came from Taloot, Argao town where it unloaded the factory's waste materials.
The truck was on its way back to its factory in barangay Abogon, Sibonga when the accident happened.
